the only time i run A/C is when its raining. and thats just to keep my window from fogging up. other than that, windows down, all the time.

limo tint in back helps too. plus i gotta keep my fronts down so cops won't pull me over for it being too dark

That would be Arizona and California. We have the dry heat here. The mercury hit 96 in Sacramento today, but humidity was around 40-ish% (which is actually a little high for this region). Anyway....its tolerable for me.

Glad to hear all is going well Jordan 8)

        and west Texas........

Glad you're enjoying Austin....beware of 6th St ;) and if May heat/humidity is bothering you, just wait till July/August when it hits 110F and there is hot wind.

I'd highly recommend an A/C in your fine E30 ;)

Keep it up dude, I'm sure you're enjoying it there.
After your first summer I think you'll be alright.
As stated humidity is what sucks not so much the heat.

The humidity is a killer, but I haven't had any issues in my car yet. It's mostly just too hot when I'm working.

No A/C in he car for me!

Fuck that man I have family in Houston and just like we have auto start in our cars here to warm them up in the winter they have suto start to cool down the cars.

I have working ac in my IC i dont like driving mid day with the top down you get all musty and sticky from the heat...kinda of like you were Bro- oh shit never mind that.

The summer nights are the best in the IC though....

Yeah, I know. He is in Hill Country - i tis going to be a real shock for him this summer.

The dry heat comment was a joke. I have been in Phoenix and Palm Springs in the summer. Dry heat! It is still hotter than hell.

On Jordan's first two days of work, Austin hit a record high both days. May is not usually this hot. The news mon and tues had said those temps, close to 100, were kept mainly for july and august.

SO hopefully with the BLAST of hotness, he will get used to it, then the cooling down that we are having now will be more appriciated. Then he can start aclimating in prep for a whole couple MONTHS of close to/above 100 degree weather!

WOO HOO!! I am in Houston right now and just had to spend 900 bucks on a new AC system. And that is with a new compressor already installed. AND it STILL doesn't work quite right. We converted to the new stuff, and think that might be the problem. But let me tell you, Houston is MISERABLE!!! Having a black on black car does not help AT ALL! Nor do I think getting my windows tinted would help either. I don't think I am going to waste the money on that mod.

It is insanely hot. I burned my butt yesterday when I sat down to drive home.

And a sunshade in the front window when you are parked will make a HUGE difference if the windows are tinted as well.

Having daily driven 2 e30's in 90+ heat/humidity for over 2 years, one having tinted windows and the other having no tint, I can safely say that there is an enormously huge difference.

My car even with a black interior is much cooler (35% tint all around) than my dad's car with a tan interior (no tint)

I've survived the last 3 summers in houston with no a/c, just stay hydrated and keep the windows down. i have a pretty heavy tint on the windows, but it still pushes 140oF after sitting in parking lots for a few hours, even with a deflector on the windshield.
