Went to the LA auto show this year and caught one of the CTS presentations. Even my friends with short attention spans were glued to the spot as we learned about all its fancy gadgets and engineering. We then proceeded to step in to a sedan. All I can say is that these cars are VERY badass!
That said, I really hate the lines of the coupe!! Just think it could have been so much better in the rear(although the one you posted is somewhat swaying me. Maybe with some yellow headlight tint...)

From Wiki:
"The powerplant in the 2009 CTS-V is a supercharged OHV 6.2 liter LSA V-8, based on the LS9 V-8 from the recently released Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. It produces 556 hp (415 kW) and 551 lb·ft (747 N·m) of torque."
"Official 0-60 mph time for the 2nd-generation CTS-V is 3.9 seconds, while the quarter mile is run at 12.0 seconds at 118 mph (190 km/h). These numbers were duplicated by Road and Track magazine (0-60 in 3.9 seconds for the automatic and 4.1 seconds for the manual."
Holy fuck.

It's about time. Cadillac has had the engineering all along, but GM has usually been the limiting factor.
15 years ago... yikes. The Eldorado/Seville and the Northstar/4L80-E were pretty much the only bright spots, both plagued with that famous period GM build quality.-Dave

Caddy had my attention since 07 when I rented an 07 STS for a road trip. i was very uneducated on the caddy lineup and wanted a DTS (I know, it's a grandpa car) but got "stuck" with the STS.
It was midnight blue and I had it for a 5 day round trip back home to Saskatchewan. In that time frame I put a whopping 4000 kms on it and pushed it to it's limits. After that ride, i knew Caddy had something special that really competes with ze germans! (maybe not in reliabilty, or in initial quality, but the way that thing performed with the base 3.6 with RWD.
The following year they bumped the hp up on the base engine to 300hp I think, and boy, it just made the car that much better.

not exactly sure how gm has limited cadillac? they have put their ls motors into them and brought alot of their design teams in and changed things around in a good way.

The HT4100 had to be adapted from a FWD layout to RWD in that short time as well, and power a car that was twice as big as it was designed for. Of course it was anemic and blew up.
That same engine received various refinements and displacement bumps and the end result was an engine with one of the lowest warranty claims of any GM engine. The 4.9L Caddy engine is extremely reliable. The Hydramatic bolted to it, less so.-Dave
