ALL of the Middle East is on full-boil right now. And perhaps--for the first time ever--all the violent unrest seems to be domestic in nature. The main reason they cancelled Bahrain is because some of the protests/violence are directly aimed at F1. The Prince/King/Whatever has govt. funds invested in the track, the event, and a team (Mercedes?). The citizens seem to think that he is more interested in seeing this event prosper than he is his own people. It's probably a valid concern. By getting the event cancelled they effectively kneed him (and us) in the balls. While I am sorely disappointed, I am willing to give up watching a race or two in the name of freedom. (but so help me if they turn into commies...)

Start of the 2011 season just got pushed back to March 25th in Australia because it's apparently Bahrain's turn to have a "revolution".

If you want some more interesting back story, take a look at Jean Todt's ties with the Bahrain royal family.

Which most likely explains why they won't have to pay the race fee (the Indy GP in 2001 were told you are paying the race fee, regardless when there was talk of cancelling the race, right after 9/11) and why the FIA didn't cancel the race and allowed the Bahrain royal family to call it.

I'm excited to see how the new rookie, Sergio Perez does this season. Have to root for my people... Well, half-my people. My other half is why I root for Vettel. :D

It really seems as if Bernie has been going through the begining stages of dementia.

Why not give them real challenges like having the race in Libya instead and having them dodge airstrikes and rpgs while trying to overtake each other? I got $10 on Kobayashi crashing into Gaddafi and ending this whole charade.

If they introduce something retarded like that I will probably just stop watching.

Dey should just bring out da sc to bunch up da feild like dey does in NASCArrrrrrrrrrr. I think Jackie stewert is right in the current tilke tracks suck. They do not penalize poor driving and mistakes. I have never seen a boring race at Spa rain or not.

Not to mention he is always talking about making the sport more green, and then he wants to pump thousands and thousands of gallons of water onto pavement for absolutely no reason....

im sure they will choose to do it at track where it does not rain often, just another show of Formula 1's wealth and power.

Fucking exactly. Spa, Silverstone, Monza, Interlagos, Canada almost always produce a great race.........rain or shine.

So the end of the Ford-Ferrari saga... The Ferrari is now called '150° Italia'

                              Official Ferrari Statement (word-for-word):

In order to avoid the slightest risk of anyone confusing a Formula 1 car with a pick-up truck, for their part, the men from Maranello have decided that the car will lose the F that precedes the number 150 and which stands for Ferrari, as it has done on numerous occasions when it’s come to giving a car a code name, be it for the race track or the road.

It appears that this could have caused so much confusion in the minds of the consumer across the Pond that, at the same time as losing the F, the name will be completely Italianised, replacing the English “th” with the equivalent Italian symbol.

Therefore the name will now read as the Ferrari 150° Italia, which should make it clear even to the thickest of people that the name of the car is a tribute to the anniversary of the unification of our country. Let’s hope the matter is now definitely closed and that we can concentrate on more serious matters, namely ensuring that our car that already seems to be pretty good out of the box, becomes a real winner.

                              L.M.A.O!! haha
