Im kinda discouraged by Hamiltion's P1 time. I hope he is not that fast. We need another race like last year, the battle between Button and Alonso was very good.

He was fast last year too, just didn't help much when he broke his front suspension.

No, the Mercedes has had top speed ALL YEAR and that really translated in Spa because of Sectors 1 & 3. I think Rosberg/Schumi may have a legit shot at a podium depending on what they can pull out in quali.

Pirelli is now talking about asking the FIA to enforce a camber limit after seeing what the tires look like in FP2/3. And I think they've already reduced their recomendation since Spa, twice.

I dont think the limits on camber should carry over to the race. If a team wants to run the risk of higher camber that only adds to the excitement.

Apparently McLaren are running a higher downforce rear wing than everyone else, which I was wondering just last night who would bring a higher downforce rear wing which will give you a great lap time in practice and qualifying since you have unrestricted DRS use then, then come the race they may be screwed. Then again McLaren may just have a car that is just too much for everyone else to over come.

But RBR always goes slow on Friday so they will probably crank out a lap record tomorrow and we will all be laughing except for Hamilton.

I was thinking they may play the strategy that makes use of the double DRS zones during the race. After making a pass using DRS then they can use the 'chickens' to pull out a more than 1 second gap to the trailing car and keep others from using DRS.

I say its worth it, maybe we will get a good race out of this...

Merc over 1.5 sec off the pace,,,, very poor pace.

They were only .5 seconds off in Q3 and would have only been .4 or .3 if Button had finished his lap. Still, that isn't very good considering they have a steeper wing angle for the race.

Vettels running a much shorter final gear. His speed trap mph is the slowest and nearly 15mph slower than the ferrari's.

This will be a cool race tomorrow.

oh yeah....that merc. lol yeah they didn't do as great as i thought they might, but we will see tomorrow where they can get, i am hoping for a Vettel, Massa and Schumacher podium in any order.

Edit: based on what hick is saying and i read an article saying the same thing, seems like Vettel qualified with a race set up tailored for leading the race, as did McMerc, where as I believe Seb's is superior as he will be faster when not using the DRS.
