In my case, the clunk is certainly there with bumps on the driver's side.

How do you diagnose the shock mounts. I thought of that and last month I grabbed the shock and just tried to shake it in any direction, but go no movement. Do I need to remove the trunk liner and take a look at the top of the shock?

yes remove the trunk liner on both sides. Get the rear wheels off the ground. an easy way is to use a 2x4 as a lever and have your buddy pry the wheel upward while you watch the shock mount inside the trunk. Youll know if its bad
By the way correctinstallation is critical or youll blow the new shock mounts in a day. Washer placement has to be correct. let me know if i can help. Ill send diagrams

Yup. Thats what I did, although it was pretty obvious and really easy to get to with the vert.

Ok guys in my case, i had the car on the lift today and diagnosed the thud ive been feeling. satarted with the csb. Is this normal csb play?

The subframe bushings and guibo looked fine.

Before putting the heat shield that covers the driveshaft we noticed that it had some marks on it. So we decided to go around with out it. And guess what the thud/clunk was gone.it seems like if the exhaust tubes were hitting the shield. I will try it couple of days without the shield and see, but again is the csb pkay normal or do i need to replace it? I have no vibrations from the shaft.

yes thats normal. What we cant tell from that video is if the csb is weathered or cracked. As long as the rubber surrounding the bearing is in good shape youre fine. its supposed to move around like that

Yeah the surroundings looked fine in place and new, it wasnot cracked at all but the play it had i thoughtit wasnt normal, but again as i dont have any shaft vibrations/ clunking when shifting up or down/ depressing the clutch etc... The csb is discarded. You can see in the pics below towards the center and at the top where the exhaust was rubbing. Amazing how you can get confused with the crappy sounds an old car makes one in a while.
