    The E24 picture thread

I don't know what it is about these, but I find these sexy as hell to look at. How are these to drive and maintain, might be another story right? I like that these come with m30s, cheap and strong engines that aren't complicated by any means....but i am hearing suspension parts are specific and aren't shared with e28s is that right?

    Good 411 guide on these I found - http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/0...ies/index.html

If you have first hand experience with these, please share :)

I'll start with a few... an 85 m635csi, soooo hot!

    And a local 89 635csi (autotragic :( )

I could almost live with the big bumpers.... did the 88/89s have smaller bumpers or what?

I have been waiting for this thread all my life. Almost picked up an E24 myself.

Oh, Jean, your suspension questions: there were two generations of E24 - the first gen (up to mid-82) was E12-based and uses E12 front and rear suspension, so finding aftermarket stuff for it sucks. '83 onward uses E28 suspension, which has better geometry AND better aftermarket support.

Yeah, I am looking at 88/89 cars actually so specific to these. About the only thing I don't like is the dash......

Drivers side front needs more air....... that is all.

jk. I used to think these were fugly-poo as a young child but past the age of 12-13 I grew to like them.... a LOT. It doesnt hurt that I have a love for all things 80's BMW/German cars. Yes, even a Merc or two which is unheard of from me.
