    r3v'd that sucker

Autocross at the race track in the rain, lost traction in second, and awaaaaay I went towards a wall. Crunch.

Fender, hood, and bumper are toast. I've already bent the body supports and the valance back into some sort of usable shape though. Track rat's going back to the track shortly.

ahhhh, that will buff right out.......

on a more serious note, check the forward frame rail for being bent, doesnt take much to knock it far enough out of alignment so that a new fender and hood wont align worth a shit
I saved 15% on my Bimmer parts by switching to ...

Doesn't count as a r3v since you were at the track. Bummer to see that happen though. Definitely looks fixable.

When the hood is closed, the gaps are actually all pretty much spot on. The only real damage is when the bumper got smooshed in, it flattened a spots where the fender and valance bolt to. Frame is still dead straight, car tracks perfectly, etc. I'll probably have an alignment done just to be sure.

Basically all I need to get the thing back to racing is a hood, fender, fender liners, headlight bucket, bumper, turn signal lens, euro grill, and a brake duct. Not too shabby.

Looks like your on it though. What about 600 for all those parts. Not too bad.

You must have kept on going OR layout was close to walls (unusual for autocross, but this was on a track)?? Sucks

                Poor D.S. Easy fix.
Even if needed, frame pull is minor.

R3V starts with bald tires, you have tread.

                    No R3V, no care.

                    Unless there is boobies.

                    I see no boobies.

Super slick, I'm crap at controlling slides, and there was a wall fairly close. I spun to the right and would've ended up backwards if the wall didn't jump at me.

And yeah, we have a small track we have for autocross here.

If this was a SCCA sanctioned event and the course came within 25ft of said wall the insurance should cover it. If it was not a SCCA event, you are probably shit outta luck.

CACC, since I'm in Canada, but no it isn't covered for this autocross. You sign a sheet at the start of the day saying if you smash on your own accord, tough shit. Obviously the insurance covers if someone else runs in to you, etc. My sig picture is a pretty good idea of how close walls generally are. 3 or 4 car widths.

Was at a tiny little track on Van Island, not Mission.
