Because compartmentalization is an easy way for people with an uneducated or narrow minded view of the world to understand and discriminate against people with different lifestyles. Hence; this thread.

          No, really. I do.

Why am I a roof rack poseur just because I have a roof rack and use it?? If you don't believe me, look at my cross bars. They've got more bumps and bruises than most of the cars on this forum! Don't hate because my car is different than yours. Why do I need to drive a gigantic SUV just to carry a bicycle?
I think some of you people are missing the point. I understood a roof rack poseur to be someone who has a rack just for the look, not someone who actually uses it.

I'm sorta afraid to take mine off thinking I won't be able to put it back on when needed.
Shit's rusted and adjusting the attachments that pinch the rails was a total nightmare. Oh God, I remember even adjusting my fairing was a total bitch for me with the broken-ish hardware.

                Haters gonna hate.

I have a volvo lip, missing brake ducts and fog lights, stretched tires, its so low that daily driving it is a pain AND a roof rack! I think a prize is warranted on behalf of my E30.

Did I mention that I dont use it for ANYTHING??? Not even to rest things on it!

No you numbnuts, this thread is about people who DO NOT use their roof rack... they are the posers.

U seem to have a guilty conscience or someting... No one called you out on being a poser, so dont fret!

What defines a rack poser? Someone who has a rack on their car with nothing on it. I raced mountain bikes for 6 years, still ride for fun up to 8 hours a week my vehicle's racks still are empty more often than not. How can you tell the posers from the athletes? Maybe it should be settled on the trails

Can't wait to get a rack for the E30. I've even got a hang glider attachment for the non 4x4 flying sites.

I may only use my rack a few times a year for boats or bikes but I am not going to take it off every time I am done with it.....maybe I am a poser because 99% of the time there is nothing on it. Plus its a good place to store it.

For what it's worth, i've never met someone with a fixie who wasnt a hipster. However I also live in Southern California.
