How to fit iX arches with 9J wheels

Not sure where to post this up, apologies if this is the wrong section.

I'm restoring a touring at the minute and have a set of iX arch flares to go onto it as well as some 9J Borbet B's.

A friend of mine also has Borber B's on his car, a coupe, and he has the arch lips rolled up for clearance. As far as I can see the arch lip is used to fix the iX arches to the car. How does this work with iX arches?

Here's a photoshop of what I'm hoping to have the car look like once I'm done:

Hope someone can shed some insight into this

Trim the inner part of the flare (it is still held on by double sided tape), and then roll it normally.

It is commonly assumed the ix flares give more room but they actually give less. They are made to protect the rockers and hide the ride height.

They are going to stick out massively. You'd want more like an ET20 ro 25 to get them to fit under the ix fenders - realize that the rear hubs stick out a few MM more already.

They should fit just like he has them sitting in the photoshop (nice job on that btw). The difference between ix's and rwd e30's is only 10mm, I don't see why people always make such a big deal about it.

His touring may not be an iX, he may just want the iX flares. I could be wrong.

How many ix's have you tried to fit wide wheels/tire on? None? Ok then. ;)

True he didn't say it was an ix though.

I just found this thread while googling, topic reply notifications is of which meant I forgot I ever posted this up :o

To answer all the posts etc...

E30 F34R: Thanks, I hope she looks as close to the PS as I can manage, slightly different colour though.

Julien: I'm not sure of the colour. I though mauritius blue at first but compared to my own touring it's much lighter. I'll be going Mauritius blue as my current touring:

Devil Inc & B*saint: Thanks guys!

nando: Is that the iX arch with most of it trimmed away at the top/apex of the arch? Offset is 15 for 16x9 Borbet B's as posted above.

pawi30: thats right, she's not an iX, we never got them in Ireland, although I know of 2 owned by the same guy.

I had started another thread a few days ago about how to fit them as I'm hopefully going to have her painted towards the end of May. Then time to fit all the new goodies and reshell from the old touring and fit the m52.

I've a project thread here if anyone is interested: http://www.e30owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13237
