M20B25, Battery finally went kaput. What do you recommend in a conventional battery? Thanks

I've used a lot of different brands over the years, but I've never had a single problem with Interstate batteries. MTP 91 is the model you would need.

I've got an MTP 91 that I've had for at least 10 years and it still works great. I take it in and out to move around my parts cars. I just used it the other day in single digit temperatures to start a forklift that had been sitting since summer. It cranked for a good 30 seconds and fired right up.

                Uh, what? That's nonsense.

I would suggest an AGM battery, as they don't off-gas (no risk of boom boom, but more importantly no terminal corrosion), and seem to be very tolerant of abuse.
I've had good experiences with optima, but if you're not interested in that brand, I'd suggest you look at Odyssey.

I replaced mine with an interstate battery. My friends have had good luck with them in very cold weather opposed to other standard brands. Also they run 3-4 pounds lighter then the standard sears/walmart brand batteries, lol.

I'm sure it doesn't make a significant difference, but I've always used Bosch batteries. They seem to last a bit longer than other brands I've tried. But they do cost a little more up front.

The original Bosch battery in my 318is lasted over 15 years before in finally had to change it...and that was because I left the lights on and ran the battery down to zero one too many times. They're all I use.

My local ACE hardware orders them for me all the time and they usually deliver them the same day. I've found that most European car repair shops carry them as well.

EDIT: Also, most of the independently owned auto parts stores.
