    Ran over my Mtech2 apron

Welp thats what I get for thinking I can make it back home from work in the snow. Lesson learned, the bimmer is no longer allowed to play in the snow anymore.

Anyway, I need your help finding a part number. Mod's you can move this if you'd like, I posted this in the general section for quick exposure.

The rivet, #4 in the diagram below, mounts through the bottom of the mtech2 apron and into a bracket thats secured to the late model valance. My question is, what the heck is the PN for those brackets!? I can't find it anywhere on realoem. When I ran over the apron, it took all of the brackets with it.

Any one of you guys with factory mounted mtech2 fronts have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it's available separately to be honest. I know when you buy a new spoiler it comes with the mounting kit.

You're telling me. I just got done doing a double at the hospital b/c the weather was so bad and no one showed up for the next shift (sucks to be a supervisor). So I'm thinking, the roads should be better for the ride home the next morning anyway. Nope!

Hmm... I was worried that that might be the case. Now by "spoiler" you mean the late model valance right? I'm already gonna pick up a new tech2 apron from blunt, and if I end up having to get a new valance from him as well I'll just go through insurance I guess. At that point it would be cheaper to just pay the deductible. I just don't freakin trust any shops to do it properly. Ugh.

The new ones from blunt don't come with the install hardware, so I'm shit out of luck there... hah. But to be honest, I am not really sure that these brackets would even come with the mtech2 apron. Before I even went mtech2, these brackets were already attached to the valance. And realoem isnt any help either b/c for late model valances they actually just show a diagram of the early model ones. FML with these 20 year old cars.

Yeah, that may be route I am going to have to take. I just wish I could get my hands on one bracket at least, so I can do a perfect copy. I may have to just drive to where I lost my apron, after the snow melts, and see if i can find any remains.

Here is a quick pic I drew... the red is the bracket I am talking about and the black line is the rivet (#4 in the diagram).

Thanks L, but that isn't it either hah. Thats actually the clip for the mtech2 sideskirts. Damn, I'm becoming quite versed with Mtech2 install hardware.... haha. If you have any late model valances, take a peek underneath them. If there arent any brackets present, check out the pairs of holes on the inner lip. Thats where they mount to. How the hell did my valance already have those brackets there? I just assumed it was something that was on all valances b/c mine had them.

I know what piece you are asking about. These are designed to break off, definitely a wear item. Should be under the valence portion of the diagrams. I think I have some in the garage.

                      What department do you supervise?

Yeah but the valance portion of the diagrams show the early model valance and not the late model... wtf is that all about... hah? If you have some in your garage that would be great man. I'll pay you for your time. All i need is at least one, so i can copy it.

I supervise the clinical lab in the hospital.

This is the diagram they give me... wtf.

Damn, I searched my garage and could not find the extra two that were still on the car last time I bought them. I spoke with one of the guys at Pelican and no dice. Spoke with the local parts counter but the older guy that actually knows this kind of stuff was unavailable.

Probably the type of thing that has to be looked up with me there in person. I had to buy new fogs for my 87iS once and the parts counter had a binder with specific e30 options. Just as you won't find the 87iS in the ETK, these parts are in that book based on the EBA# for these options.

I tried as I would like to pick up some extra too. I will try and remember to call Michael at Sandia in the morning.

BTW, I am a manager in Radiology. I get to push paper about a certain piece of lab equipment all the time since it falls under the nuc med ram license.
