The asking price was $8k, but after getting 128 offers of $1300 shipped the seller killed himself. Does that count?

better question would be whats the average asking price, and the average actual sale price.

I think you're likely to get more for your car on here than on CL or in the paper. Members know what cars are worth, what maintenance and/or replacement parts cost.
I'd also feel comfortable about buying a car here as you can't BS anybody about the condition, etc.

Yeah not really worried about my car so much, as what some people on ebay and what not are asking for their cars. It appears to me that the e30 is starting to appreciate if its a clean example. Also knowing how cheap a lot of guys on here are, (myself included) just wondered what kinda price r3v was capable of bringing.....If my car was prestine I would think Roundel would be the place to advertise...

15.5k is better then I would have expected for r3v, regardless of condition, swap etc.

it depends on what kind of e30 your buying... a stock one. a modded one.. a swapped one. turbo one. prices do vary

Truth. Mine was a rebuilt swap car with lots of goodies.

My other hight price e30 was an 89 325i 4-door @240k with all the sport add ons, shocks and springs for 6k

At least when it comes to whole car buying, people here aren't cheap. Most of us know markets and what things are worth. We can also read through the "easy fix" or the "probably just the..." BS.

prices differ with region as well. In socal the price of a stock, well maintained clear title e30 can go anywhere from 2.5k to 5k depending on model and condition.

Every now and then you do see some in the 1500 to 2k range pop up on craigslist.

Remember, this site goes further than just the everyday idiots that post here. The community is large. many different flavors of e30 owner- yes, many cheap bastards on the site, but its not everyone. all that considered I dont think think this site is cheap, I see guys fetching good money. I tend to sell things cheap to move it fast, others shoot high and are alot more patient. Free classified on a busy site, lowball me all you want you wont hear me complaining
