    Radar Detectors

    Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a radar detector. Now, I've been keeping an eye out for a Valentine One but those are a little pricey to me.

I on the other hand can get the Passport series relatively cheap from my job.

What are your opinions? What do you use, pros and cons?

    Thanks guys.

I understand that, but I'm not asking for the sole purpose of myself. A lot of people on this forum have this same question I'm sure.

With answers in this tread it becomes archived, helping r3v.

I just purchased the Escort Redline, it's sweeet. Works well with the e30 interior styling as well, not too "modernish." Got the hardwire kit to go with it so no annoying cord to deal with. Works like a charm.

I've had a few Escorts, but nothing compares to my V1. It's worth every penny.

I have a $40 cobra, It works great for the price. Its no v1 and doesn't have distances or such but it always seems to detect the radar long before I can spot the police. I had one time were I got hit with lazer and got it fast enough were the cop pulled over the person behind me.

^ You're not going to be laser. The laser jammers on the market are FCC violations. What you refer to could be the human application, not your detector saving you. By the time the laser is on you, a distance and speed is determined before you can react.

These are more helpful for the increasingly annoying and amount of traffic cameras.

But it looked like the person behind me was going faster so they pulled her over.

You think we could archive all the internet on R3V?

our families have Escorts in all vehicle. Except the Cayman S has a built in phaser/shifter deal. The cabrio gets a Solo because its cordless.

how do you maintain hair control in the cabrio>? do you use an "extra hold" solution?

Just google it and you will see the V1 is widely known as the best.

Wrong, the fcc governs radio waves. Lasers are light, not radiowaves. Not to say they work, but they are not illegal.
