Maybe it's just my experience with blowouts, but I didn't freak at all. And I have the parts sitting in my garage, so cost wasn't an issue, and AAA was towing, so that was free too. The spring perch broke off first, I pulled to the side, and saw that the tires were all intact - and since I was in the median, I decided to cross to the breakdown and check more closely. That's when the tire burst. But this is probably my 5th blowout or so, I never even flinched. It's not hard steering your car with a flat tire - go watch cops :)

DanGillan was a big help, we got the stuff off my car, both sides, and pulled the parts I need off the euro car. I had to bring the strut housings to Midas (no air, no torch) to get them apart/put them together, but the guy was nice, $50 for the whole thing, and a beer to cool me down.
This weekend I guess, I'll put it all back together and have MAD rake for a few minutes - until I get the rears on. Pics are developing... :)
