Everybody else, I get it! They don't exist. Read the whole thread, geez!! :hitler:

Still it is possible that the car was upgraded to an M (minus the transmission). If I want to investigate further, I will look at the engine and ask to see service records.
An automatic on an S38B35? :loco:

He's pulling your leg. Literally the second someone starts BSing me about their old BMW I stop taking them seriously. Only way I'd even care to continue the conversation is if they clearly don't know the value of the vehicle they're considering selling me.

That's exactly why I might consider further investgation. Whether it was upgraded to an M or not, the owner clearly didn't know what he had. I'm certain he didn't put an "ML6" badge on his car cause he thought he could sell it for more money. Somebody else put that badge on because somebody else thought they had upgraded it enough to become an official M car. Whether or not that someone did right to justify that badge is what I have to investigate.

Again the only reason I'm persuing it is because I think the owner doesnt know what he has and I might be able to name my price. Perhaps low enough to afford a 5sp swap. (or low enough to not care that it's an automatic)
