Any American Muscle love here? (pics)

I while back I bought a project 1989 mustang notchback. I contemplated selling it because of other projects. Instead, I found an unbeatable deal on a low mile built motor and trans combo. The builder works for Rousch and did the install. I still have some cosmetics to clean up but I like working from the inside out. A complete 6 piece headlight set including amber corners are on its way.

I traded the weld racing wheel combo plus cash for a set of 10th anniversary cobra reps and tires. The fronts are 17x9 and rears are 17x10.5. I'm running 255x40 and Nitto NT05R 315x35 drag radials out back.

    Built 306
    Built t-5 tranny
    ported gt40 heads
    edelbrock rpm intakes
    24lbs injectors
    80mm mass
    Trickflow stage II cam
    BBK shorties
    h-pipe with dumped magnaflows
    3.73 gears
    5-lug conversion
    lowered
    frame tied
    10th Anniversary cobra reps
    315x35x17 Nitto NT05R drag radials

    New wheel set up

nice! how much power does that 306 put out (also i thought they were 302's.. slight over bore?)

i find myself more and more liking this vintage of mustang, especially a simple, uncluttered example.

That's a nice Stang you got there..maybe you can help me out.
I know a guy who has a 1987 5.0 hatchback with t-tops. I heard it might be kind of rare? It only has 103k on it. Is it worth anything?

Clean foxbody mustangs are getting very close to being considered classics. Very clean ones are going for big dollars now. T-top gt are always a little more sought after for the hatchback crowd. With only 103k I would definitely see what he's asking. Is all original? Mustangs a very very cheap to modify and make fast. Very easy for the DIY too.

Yep bored over, not a big gain, just necessary during build. The bore really comes to life with all other mods however. Not sure how much power I have over stock but my GOD the torque is insane. The cam used with all other mods works really well together. The builder really knows is stuff. I wish I could upload the sound because it's pretty amazing. The non traditional magnaflow dumps gives it a very unique sound for a mustang.

The new wheels are ok (more modern), but I like the old welds better. They are some of my favorite wheels from that era.

I had a white/black 86 GT hatchback. Man that thing was fast.

                Ex - wife wrecked it.

I despise Mustangs but I actually like that one. Aside from the wheels/tire it looks subtle but probably a beast to drive.

nice 5-O. but even though they look stock, I like your Discos better.

Nice ride! Notchbacks 5.0's are becoming hard to find. A lot guys around here collect the patrol cars and what not as well. Such a fun car and very fast with little work. Had 3 of them growing up and been down the drag strip a couple hundred times in them. Always a blast to drive with the neck snapping torque.

3.5" wide welds in the front equals a sharp turn nightmare. Welds are only nice on a closed circuit 1/4 mile track. Not at all ideal on an actual road with normal driving conditions.
