Whats gives you the biggest bang for your buck when buying boost controllers ?

I have a 87 vert turbo stoker and am looking to replace my boost controller.
I assume an electronic BC is a much better way to go than a manual one. Can anyone give me some advice on what's the best one for the $ ?

the best ones by far are the ones controlled by the ECU - do you have standalone or are you running a modified/stock computer?
