      and this is not new at all, there was a train Locomotive in the UK that used something similar to this lay out in but in steam 60 years ago or so IIRC

        Interesting design. Seems like there is a lot of chance of total destruction if anything were to ever go wrong. The engine relies heavily on the fact that the crank bearings have virtually no wear/load on them so if one bank of opposing cylinders were to lose compression for any reason the crank would just snap under torsion from the remaing bank still completing its stroke(especially if its magnesium)....

        I still wish they refined the MYT engine.....that got buried pretty quick.

            very interesting. seems like a very wide engine. but very flat. good for low center of gravity.

                        point being it most of the engine fundamentals have been around for decades

                              When I was kid I took a tour on that WWII sub they have docked in San Francisco, I remember them saying the diesel engines were set up this way.
