if i were in the market for a ~2L 4cyl turbo fwd, i'd get a mazdaspeed3 or gti. neons. lol. my ex had a neon, looked exactly like that purple one posted above except it was a 4 door. she downgraded from a cirrusblau metallic e30. what a huuuuge leap backwards. she crashed it into a wall. i told her good job.
4g63T , one of the BEST 4 cyl engines ever. If built right can see more than 1000HP

My car backfires LOUD on shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd depending how long I stay on the throttle before the shift.
Though I do believe I'm running a tad rich.

I would second that the 2L 4g63 has a long running reputation. Its a shame the evo nine switched to an aluminum block. The 2.4L neon does have the cast block which is great for power but only to about 450-500hp than you need to start tearing into the engine.

Out of curiosity I took my e30(m50) and my neon(srt4) to pgp to autoX to compare both cars. I have never taken the neon to any road course or autoX and have gone recently in the bmw. I was a bit surprised but not shocked that the neon ran 4 seconds faster around the track than my e30. So many may not like the car but they do more than go straight. Thats a big misconception. Im not saying it faster than all e30s duh it was just a comparison the same day same driver.

Not arguing, but there are too many variables between the cars in the modification department to be able to say you're surprised. How is each car modified suspension wise? We already know the srt is faster in a straight line. :o

As long as it's not an E36 lol

Seriously though, unless it's totally riced out I give some respect to any car that has some decent work done to it. It's just kinda immature to dismiss any car simply "because it's a *blank*"

Is FWD really the best way to build a car for performance? Hell no. Then again neither is Semi trailing arm rear suspension.

neon- Tein springs ,Perrin rear sway the rest stock
e30- H&R sport springs, bilstein shocks, ST front and rear sway bar
FYI I got to drive in a guys e30 at the track that was absolutely fantastic and im planning on changing my set up more like his. Mine tends to plow alot like how my neon does.

H&R race springs will do better to combat that condition than the Sports.

                              E36 hate stems from ignorance.

I think you mean lulz stem from E36 hate. I know it has a lot of better design elements, namely the suspension, two eared diff, etc. but I still strongly believe that they were not as well built as E30s.

Personally I do like to talk shit about the newer 3ers but its 98% for the lol.
