Either your shift linkage needs repair, or your transmission needs replacement/refurbishment.
My trans used to pop out of 4th gear. When I took the trans out, the input shaft bearing was worn to hell.

My swapped car pops out of reverse occasionally, has to do with the custom shift linkage not lining up quite right. Maybe yours is damaged?Comment
