i'll never understand why people buy verts and try to turn then into track cars.

Well, I padded the bar for street use, now can Autocross, do laps at HPR, and remove it, so now i guess I need 400 HP. The Vert. drivers seem to "hook up" more too, thats why I bought mine, it's nice having a choice at the park/beach who's going for a ride.

but i reccomend using 2/4/5 door for racing/tracking/drifting rather than a convertible

If i choose to show up with a FULL cage, the National SCAA Tec. manager said FINE for certain events. Certinly appreciate KenC comment about the rear bar, i haven't run that by my cage guy yet. I only found the red cage yesterday. www.hanksvillehotrods.com Looks like racing to me.
Just noticed my car came up a couple of times in this thread.

My goal with this car was to autocross and maybe make a rare appearance at a track day. In the past 12 years that I've owned this car I have yet to track it.

I know this setup wouldn't work for most track day orgs but it would however work for a few out here is the West. It was never installed for racing. I have a D-Mod BMWCCA club race car. The vert is my street cruiser and autocrosser.

More info on the vert build if anyone's interested.
