my brother didnt trade me for them. he was the middle man that negotiated the trade. the e30 with the RS' was sitting at the bmw shop he works at. it was abandoned and they have a mechanics lien on it. after profusely thanking the owner and telling him i cant believe he is letting me have them, he said this, "well i mean hey, if it makes someone happy to have them, why not?"
i bought a set of perfect bottlecaps with excellent tires for $150 from a friend. so technically, in the end i paid $150 for a set of RS'. which is practically stealing them anyhow.
Fuck yea. This is a good reminder to keep my eyes open for steals to be had. Nice move OP. RS are so uber legit its not even funny
and I hate you. ;)

There's just so many other wheels I'd rather have first.
I get tired of people trashing a timeless wheel that suits an E30 perfectly just because they've seen a million and one pics of them together on countless websites.
How many do you really see in person?
I can't really talk though, I've had a set of 17" RS for 4 years and they've been nowhere near my E30 for this very reason.
(Not directing any of this at you specifically Handerson ;) )
I guess I should rephrase. I don't hate the wheel itself. The RS is a timeless euro wheel.
I hate the ridiculous status they've been elevated to and the ridiculously inflated prices they go for, for no real logical reason. People spray their shorts over them, but not at the half-a-dozen or so other wheels that look nearly identical made by other companies, that are also modular.
I hate that the wheels you traded for have become a superficial holy grail of all that is rolling stock because the (mainly) VW and euro community said so, and everyone and their grandmother is jumping on your nuts because of it.
I'm stoked that you got them, and I'm honestly happy for you that you're so pumped on getting them, it's a killer deal. But I hate RS's for the same reason I hate diamonds. They're just rocks. But society and the world economy have decided that for some reason, they're worth more than other rocks. Same goes for the BBS RS.
haters gonna hate.......
josh, please, BBS RS are the best looking wheels for the E30, except maybe 5 or so other wheels that come close to looking as nice. As well as they are a real quality 3 piece wheel.
I think the RS is in the top 5 all time greats, E30 or not

if she goes for that, astroglide up your pole, have her lay on her stomach and slip it in slowly and bury it to your balls and leave it there until she relaxes. once she is used to it slam that ass like a screen door.

I always thought they were high because the parts to build them are high. Barrels, bolts, lips, etc all fucking pricey if you go new.
Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com Chief Sales Officer, Midwest Division—Blunt Tech Industries
exactly. the high prices reflect a number of factors. if they are rebuilt with wider lips (or other parts) or if they are stock, refurbed and polished, there is a lot of labor and cost that goes into a really nice set. this is not to mention the fact that yeah, they are no longer in production, they are forged, 3-piece and look great on virtually anything.
makes sense to me.
and in reality, the set the original poster got isn't that desirable as far as RS's go. they are far better than bottlecaps obviously, and not to take anything away, but that's a $600 set of RSs as they sit.
Personally, I love that wheel. Superb quality, top notch materials, best of everything.
As far as the OP, last I checked, your transaction didn't hurt me in the least, in fact it is gonna make my cars more valuable overall, as you are raising the bar just a a tiny bit...so the E30 goes up again.
That means I am thrilled for you. You got good stuff free and didn't hurt anyone, that is a perfect win IMO. Flawless victory!
The only reason I would never own ANY "weave" is the cleaning. I can see me screaming at that wheel, screaming bloody murder....just no, ain't gonna happen in my garage. Too old, too fat, too impatient at cleaning shit to own those. You are young and strong, right?
In the meantime, great score, bud. Rock them with pride!

More people should have them. I have seen maybe one set on the road in the past year or so. on an e30 no less! and I nearly dropped my jaw they looked so gorgeous. sure there are other wheels but I love them.
