But isn't the OP talking specifically about tire size 225 45 16?
And when you say KDW, you are referring to KDW2 right?
I'm in the exact same problem and I'm leaning towards the KDW2s but I hear they get louder as they wear down. Pretty solid treadwear numbers though.world renown Harry Potter expert

I really liked my es100's. But if the car sat for a while they would get lumpy. Stupid in the rain too. But they would stick like glue.
I just got rid of a set of G-Force - not a fan.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

Seriously. ES100s can't possibly still be in production. I bought a set in 2003, and they weren't a new tire then! It's like the tire that won't die..Comment

Though I loved the grip I had with the KDW2s, by the end they were ungodly loud. I didn't realize exactly how loud until I replaced them with some goodyear eagle GSD3's, but it was ridiculous. I seriously lowered the cruising volume on my cd player by 25% when I got new tires.88 325is - S52 powered

Yea I am referring to KDW2s, Haven't heard anything about them getting louder. Dont think they'll wear out anytime soon, they're going on my vert and i only use it for a few months.sigpicComment

you cant be serious?
do me a favor, go buy a set of Kumho XS's, or Dunlop Star Specs, or another tire in that group and tell me which has more grip.
I think my last set of snow tires were better in the corners then Yoko ES100's

Lol. I haven't tried either of those. Will do. But the es100's were stupid cheap. And I was impressed for how sticky there were.Last edited by george graves; 03-15-2011, 06:17 PM.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

Neither of these tires are available in 225/45R16 which is the OEM size for a 16", so it doesn't matter how great they are. That's the point of threads like this - there are very few tires to choose from in this size.
There are only two tires in this size on TireRack that aren't track/competition tires, and they're the two in the title of this thread.Comment
