Looks like a fat kid got his greasy fingerprints all over the car and then it turned to mold.

Thanks everyone for the kindness (r3v, really?!).
I made a little progress today, the interior was so wet, and a lot of the foam nad mold growing into it, so I went ahead and cut / rippped /pulled the carpet out, and yanked the seats and door cards. Pretty much gutting it.
Rennsport and AlpienWeiss hooked up me with some seats/doorcards today (thanks again guys!). So even if it's a little rough around teh edges it isn't moldy, I'm going to go ahead and put that stuff in once it's cleaned up better.

But gross.
Buy a cheap late model, like a 318i or 318is, and get crackin.
You can honestly get a cheap, straight one for under a G, and daily it.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

I actually cleaned mold first hand on too many surfaces to count....
Water with a little bleach..Do not use direct bleach its a waste.
The Bleach kills it and then its all about the elbow grease from there to remove the stains.....I'd say find some heavy duty cleaner that you can really not be afraid to scrub into the interior surfaces after you do a good bleach cleaning...
good luck man..personally I wouldn't do any work either with out a good sealed face mask....that stuff can get you sick

Man, this is motivation to fix the leak that happens to my black car every time it rains.. I wouldn't have thought it could get that bad. My car has been parked for the last 13 months. I finally went to work on it and found a little bit of mold on the 370mm M-tech 1 wheel! But that was all.. Best of luck to you.

That steering wheel looks comfy :) but seriously is the shell "that" perfect? if not time for a better chassis think of it as an upgrade. That mold is going to go everywhere and in time you'll wish you had just started over. removing your dash in a year and finding all you wires covered in mold wont be fun

Dang, I feel for you on this one! I just popped my wagon open last month for the first time in almost a year. Had mildew/mold on the seatbelts and some of the window trims. Nowhere NEAR that bad though. Be glad its an e30, and not a harder to come by e34 touring that you just rebuilt the whole drive train and susp on. IF mine was that bad, I would probly cut myself. lol Lucky for me its not nearly that bad, and lucky for you that its an e30. GL and def keep the windows cracked when you are in it! ;)sigpic

Bleach and water has been working for me.
To the above poster no the shell sucks, which is why I wasn't addressing the leaks and letting it sit.
I plan to get a new shell, but don't want to wait to find the right one at the moment, since I need my e30 back on the road.
Interior is mostly gutted, trying to figure out how to get this headliner out.
Can't wait to buy a nice clean shell.
And freeride, that shell looked pretty meh. If I'm going to that work I want a shell I can bring back to 9/10. 4dr hopefully.
Danny, go fuck yourself. :)
Thanks everyone... take this as a lesson to fix those leaks! I can tell you the next shell I buy I will be anal about water. Even with all this water the chassis is virtually rust free. :?Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.
