Ah. Well, everything I do is small - and these were cheap.

I might put them up for really cheap as they would be perfect for someones garage/workshop. Our QC guy doesnt even want them on the premises.

Short answer is that you can measure the thickness of something with a lip around it. I'm sure a clever machinist could measure all sorts of other things as well. Heck, most people don't even know all the tricks you can do with normal calipers.

Go read this and edumacate yousef.

I have the plans made up and the steel on order. I just need to fab it up once the material gets here and buy the dies. I think mine uses the Pro-Tools ones. Gonna start out with 1" tube x 3" radius and 1.5" tube x 4.5" radius and go from there.

I just was going by the indicator looking just like a Pittsburgh unit I got from a local bearing place, that they buy from HF.

    First off.... It's Mr. Juan.

Sorry - I don't have the link. :| I know it took 2 months to get here. It might have been dealextreme.. Harbor Freight most likely sells the same unit - I don't know.

+/- .005"?? Not that you need to, but you can do much better than that with just a caliper. Do you not have one?
