WTF bucking with a bad fuel pump?

I need some opinions on what the fuck is happening with my car. It's an '89 325is with an s52 swap BTW.

Can the DME make the engine buck and surge when it is losing fuel pressure?

My car left me stranded today, turns out it was a bad contact at the fuel pump connector, wiggling it fixed it temporarily. It kept fucking up and trying to die if I didn't keep wiggling the connector the whole 100km trip back to my buddy's place.

The weird thing is that it made the car buck and idle surge like a mofo when it happened on the way home. It literally chirped the tires on me when I was pulling out of a mall parking lot.

Now I can't re-create it. If I disconnect the fuel pump connector the engine just dies off no surge or buck just a slow die off.

    Back story:
So I'm on a fucking road trip 500km's from home, literally was just telling my friend a half hour ago that if my car was going to break down it would be on a road trip when I'm far from home.
    LOLololololol.

A half hour later: Car dies. FFFFUUUUUU!!!!.

now sure on bucking, that almost sounds like an ignition problem. i know when i was losing fuel pressure the the car would bog out and stutter until it straighted out again. who knows, if its not doing it again then i wouldnt worry about it too much.
