    e30 Sport Seat + 2x4's + Casters = Badass Chair

    Hey,

I got really tired of have a shitty computer chair so I decided I would take one of my old front seats and make it into a chair. Basically I built a wooden support box to raise it off the floor a bit and so that there was something to attack the casters to. It looks silly as hell but I imagine that if I made some sort of cloth covering for the bottom it would help. Now all I need is a foot rest and armrests

PS: I've since removed the seat belt

Yes, it can still do everything that is can do when installed in a car.

I'm designing a way to be able to adjust the high by adding and removing 2x4 inserts with dowling and such.

nice use of an old seat. But it looks like it'd fall over if you leaned back in it. Definitely need the arm rest.

The base is larg enough so that I can lean the chair all the way back and lay in it :nice:

Hey you're the guy who stole my exhaust when I wasn't home. j/k I got the money. Anyways, cool chair. I was thinking about doing the same thing, except making a bracket that bolts on to a pneumatic chair assembly. But then I got a couch.

There's enough space underneath to put in some kind of storage drawer. Perhaps an insulated box for beer or just a basic drawer to keep your chit in.

I've been thinking of something along those lines for a while now. Nice job. Now, as you said, just tidy it up a bit.

I haven't decided yet. I am kindof at a loss as to the best way to go about it. I just can't figure out what I would acually have as the armrest. Maybe foam around a 2x4? That might work if I also covered it with fabric.
