    Toe Suspension Question.

How bad is the toe in with H&R race springs. I currently have H&R sports in the front and KYB springs in the rear of my 89 325i and the toe seems to be eating my tires to fast in the rear for daily driving! I am thinking of just going with H&R race springs front and rear as long as the toe in wont be to much to daily drive.

Option number two is just replace the kyb's with H&R sports to match the front. I plan on purchasing from tuner motorsports they are offering 10 percent off this month! going to buy 4 Bilstein sport shocks as well!

    Thanks.

do you mean toe or camber. if the toe is off in the front just get an alignment. if your toe is off in back, something is really wrong with your sub-frame or trailing arms. if your talking camber. you can get weld in camber adjustments in the rear, they work wonders for saving your tires. if its the camber up front, you can get a bolt on camber kit.

    Edit: LSD also saves tires
    Much wow

I've had an H&R Race/Bilstein Sport combo on my car pretty much since I bought it. I don't remember anything too abnormal as far as tire wear, and that was with a half dozen track days on the same tires, plus a few road trips. I bought my shocks & springs from Turner and was very happy with them btw.

Camber is if the tires/wheels contact the ground at an angle (negative camber being the result of a lowered car, the inside edge of the tire being in contact with the road the most).

Toe is if the wheels point outwards or inwards on their leading edge, and can be beneficial to racers but isn't really something you'd want otherwise. An alignment will fix this on the front, and if it's on the rear you got problems.

Camber kits work to reduce camber, and an alternative is to swap tires from the wheels periodically, to put the outer edge onto the inside and v.v. Not really a good fix though.

I am really just concerned with the rear as i just went through a pair of new tires in a couple months..it is the inside edge of the tires that are being contacted with the road most and only the insides that are worn.

Check your rear axel shafts, I have GC coils and down as far as I can go on all seasons. They are not bad at all for one whole year.

I had a bent shaft and I wore down a new set in two weeks to the cord.

P.S. H&R springs of any sort just lower the 4x4 height to a bit under normal cars today. There is no reason to worry.

Those look like stock shocks, which matched with lowering springs could make the camber wear worse than if you paired a proper set of shocks and springs.

They are stock Bilstein shocks! Sounds like good news to me because i was planing on ordering Bilstein Sport shocks anyway from tunermotorsports! Maybe that's the corporate and not the control arm bushings or a bent axel shafts, will save me money if that's the case!!!. Although i will certainly give them a look. thnx for the information!

Stock shocks are stock shocks. When you change a stock spring out for a H&R sport spring, the spring becomes stiffer and the height is much lower. You need a matched shock that can work correctly with the different ride height and rebound.
