But first things first, general cleaning, replace gaskets, bushings, bearings (one of my wheel bearings is shot), my exhaust (any one have a good recommended cat delete?) because the cat is missing and theres just steel flex tubing in its place with hose clamps, install my factory tape deck (he had a lame aftermarket system, but bless his soul he didnt tear up any of the wiring harnesses!) things like that.

Maybe track down some mesh to match my spare. Any iX suggestions? Keep in mind its an auto. And this is the first time I will be modding a bimmer. Thanks all.
auto e30s have the ZF 4hp22 right? I had this problem in my old Discovery. I changed the fluid and filter, and it seemed to fix it. not long after that, after a day of sand dunes, it sploded on an off ramp.

after letting it sit overnight, I'd at least drain a little bit of tranny fluid into a clear container, to see what it looks like.

    heh, tranny fluid.

      Ask the folks at O'reillys.

Yeah, its totally the drivers side rear wheel bearing. It gets quiet when I take a hard left. I've decided to do both rear bearings first, then both front. Im slowly starting the process. I'll document all my doings because I like to have it recorded for my own learning purposes. Anyone feel free to kick me down some wisdom. Im a bimmer noob. Thanks.

Oh yeah, and I cant seem to find a torque converter on the parts sites. Whats up with that? Are the tc's easily rebuildable or something? Maybe Im blind. Thanks.

EDIT: Does anyone have a source on a iX transmission repair manual? If you have a pdf I'd like to get that info from you. If you have an actual book, I would be willing to pay for a copy of it. Thanks.

Ive heard that replacing the voltage regulator/govener at the output end of the ZF 4hp22 will cure the shifting lag.

Yeah, but its just shifting from first to second when the car is cold. I will look into that though. Thanks!
