        RIP.

thank you to the uninsured, unlicensed, underaged, and undocumented immigrant driver who killed it.

Don't forget this icon, the 'bahn rocket that challenged BMW with 322 snortin' angry horsies, cranked out by a 5-liter V8 power station, handbuilt cooperatively by Mercedes and Porsche in the early '90's, with only approx 1,500 delivered to the US at over $80,000 each....

.... the Mercedes W124 500E/E500, also known as the ".036"

          The classic muscle-sleeper formula:
          - Big power? Check.
          - Sport-tuned suspension? Check.
          - Big brakes? Check.
          - Recaro seating? Check.
          - Flared fenders? Check.
          - Aerodynamic body kit? Check.
          - Exclusivity? Check.

          Hell yeah, big daddy.

                Thanks!
Yeah, I loved that car! Especially how no one would believe it was my car. My dad and I rescued it from the junkyard for sale lot with a stuck fuel pump. Soaked it in a tub of gas overnight to free it up, and the thing came to life. Became my daily driver for a few years until it got hit and crumpled the back up to the rear window frame. I still drove it a while after that until I accepted the fact it was beyond repair. :curse:

I f'n love the W124, I'm thinking of buying a 300e as a DD and letting the 'vert sleep in the garage until summer. Only problem is, finding one with a manual transmission is a bitch.
