Well obviously other than car general problems i should ask him, is there any other e30 specific problems that I should ask him? As in problems that are fairly common amongst e30s?

Whats up with the glass shards in the interior and what looks like tape over part of the drivers side rear window in the first pic? Might want to plan on a new window if you pick it up.

Looks like it has a straight body. Good candidate for a 5spd swap.

I'm not looking particularly for a 5 spd itd be fun, but I'm mainly looking for a good reliable car mainly to cruise around in that's why I dont mind the auto.

Yeah I wasn't going to do the swap my self ahah I was looking to see as well if theres any shops that would do it

Worth more than $700 in parts. Do it now

Bump because i found another car since the other guy pribably sold his and theres no point in making another thread

Says hell sell it to me for 1000 if i pick it up, no rust on body or suspensions, just on the driver and passenger floor pannel but theres no holes and it starts every time.

                        Worth it?

no rust on body or suspension, just the driver and passenger floor. you totally contradicted your self. I would stay away if you dont want rust. I'd rather change mechanical parts over rust any day. eventually you run out of mechanical parts to change, with rust there is ALWAYS more.

Oops iguess i shouldve said except driver and passenger floor, gr is rust really THAT killer especially if i live in Canada? How about if its just premature rust? ( noob to e30s/cars in general go easy on me )

there is no premature rust on a 20 year old car. I got my IX from brampton, rust doesn't care where you are from.

just and except mean the same thing in this context as far as I can tell. The floors are rusty. that means that by the battery is probably rusty, and on the frame rails in the engine bay, and all over.

I'm not saying its the end of the world, my IX is a little rusty, but I love driving it. just don't expect to turn it into a show car without a lot of time and money. I would rather spend the extra grand and get a car from the south than put it into body work, but I was looking for a specific car and bought it when I found it.

Of course now I kinda want to sell it. lol.

If it is not exactly what you want you should wait and save up some more. unless you dont really care then go for it. swapping in a manual is pretty straight forward too, don't let that scare you.

You passed up a rust free car for $700 but you're considering a car that needs floor pans welded in for twice as much?

If you don't have tools or can/want to learn to work on cars or don't have tons of money for someone else to fix it, then an E30 might not be for you. Save up, buy a tool set, a cheap car jack and some jack stands and make some friends who know their shit about fixing cars. E30's can be super easy/simple to work on, especially the basic maintenance.
