    How to dispose of car?

I've had an '86 es in my garage for about 6 months and I'm really getting sick of it cluttering things up. Its a parts car that does not roll. I called the charity towing place and they said the car needs to roll for them to take it. Do any of you know of a way to get a non-rollling car out of my garage and into a tow truck? Would any wrecking yard take it (it too late to call)? I'm looking for the cheapest way to get it out of here. Hopefully some place would take it for free. If any of you have Tacoma area specific info, that would be cool too.

torch it into little pieces and throw it in a friends pickup and haul it off, thats what I did if people remember, ... :D

Its fun to you learn a lot!

Call a junkyard, and tell them you have a car that you need scrapped. They will most likely have you call a towing company to come pick it up and take it to the yard. When you do, just tell them that it's a non-rolling chassis, and they need to bring a flatbed truck with a winch. I've used this exact method for hauling off 3 parted out E30's. Just make sure you have the title to the car, or no junkyard will touch it.

cool. I have the title, but its just signed over to me. I never registered the car, so its not in my name. Should that be okay?

edit: Apparently I was supposed to apply for transfer of ownership within 15 days of receiving the vehicle to avoid penalty. Go me.

I'm not sure how the WA DMV is, but here it didn't matter that the title of one of the cars was only signed over to me, or that the car wasn't registered to me. I just had to sign it over to them, and it was fine.

I have disposed of a whole car before with no title or plates or anything the guy came and picked and up and didn't even care he said it didn't matter at this point ( the condition of the car that is) (car: 87 5000TQ)

              Too bad it doesn't roll.
I'd say cliff for the hell of it.

Someday I want to try that.

They don't care whose name is on the title. They just need it for paperwork - well, they're SUPPOSED to have it, but I've junked a few cars without them. Scrap metal doesn't need titles - they're just crushing it. By the books, they do - but that's not always followed.

I stripped a 95 eclipse to nothingness, and they had to flatbed it too - he charged me $50 because I was in a remote location and it was a pain. Well worth it, but I try to find freebies now.

I'm planning on torching my 85 - fireworks and stuff. Just to see a car on fire. No, there won't be a gas tank in it.

yea man, call a scrap yard. the place here in kansas didnt need a title. and my car by anymeans didnt roll, just put some old tires under the car and they winched it up on the flatbed. you will probably ahve to drain all the liquids and remove the gastank alltogether, atleast thats what i had to do(no motor) and i took the gastank out and just threw it away.

Yes. Because clearly they can't trace it back to the person that sold it to you, who will very quickly pass on your information.

This has to be the worst advice ever - jail time could easily result.

One thing I HAVE heard work, and I would NEVER recommend it:

Drop the car off in front of a salvage yard overnight - they'll most likely take it in as scrap and not ask any questions. But like I said - I'd never do it.

Buy wheels, roll it to a parking spot, let the city impound it

Or just do what I alrady said and strip all the vin's and spray paint the car so no one will know

Or best is to take it to that place that u drive into then u drive out and ur car changes into a different color and erases all ur stars (this ones a joke!)

Or he could save himself and the person who used to own the car shitloads of legal trouble by not acting like a fucking idiot and doing it right.

Rather than pay $50, check your local newspaper for people buying junk cars. They all tow for free and many will pay you for the car because they scrap it out. I made $100 selling my junk Audi.
