Definitive List of BMW Trans & Diff Gear Ratios + Speed Calculator

I pieced this together from several internet sources, I'm sure there are some inaccuracies, especially in the diff section. Also I need some input on in the specs of the big diffs in 5,6,7 series. Tell me what you think. Once shit is finalized I can post (maybe sticky?) in the Transmission & Driveline forum.

    Thanks

    I'll suggest some tiny changes.

The Getrag 260 was also available in the E28 528e.

I don't think you need to break up the diffs by open or LSD.
As up to and including the e30 all "s" cars came with LSD's as standard but ANY other model could have LSD optioned as well.

Also the 4.10 LSD was standard on late 325is with automatic.

All the above applies to US cars. (though most also applies to EU cars)

    E30 M3 / E30 325is / E34 525iT / E34 535i

I would add the 91 US spec M42/318i. 4.10 standard, LSD optional.

It is listed. Under the small case where it belongs. ;)

          LOL if you say so.

          I would just copy this.

Its been complete and accurate for years. No point in reinventing the wheel.

^ this. btw, your info about 325ix is not accurate.

            325iX

            1988 - 3.91
            1989 - 1991 - 3.91 (Manual)
            1989 - 1991 - 4.10 (Automatic)
            AWD > RWD
