Actually no they won't...At all. Maybe if you own an M10, M42, M20B27, or a tired ass M20B25.

I really hate the dash set up in the Mini Cooper.

Who had the idea to make the speedometer the size of a basketball and in the middle?

If I ever bought one would have to spend the 5 to 20k to get that fugly dash replaced.

They weigh less than an e30, and a cooper s has more power and torque across the rev range thanks to the boost.

They also torque steer like a bitch. That being said, my next car will be a 05-06 Mini S.

The thing that bothers me is that like it or not our cars are still related to these new inbred loser BMW's. It's tainting the bloodline. And quite frankly I don't want to see every soccer mom driving around in a BMW.

                  Fucking this.

Fuck those I-3/4 transverse, FWD engines. Sorry, but way to go BMW. Way to defile the soul of what you're known for.

With the optional LSD, there was no torque steer, if you want torque steer, check out my dads 2002 V70 XC volvo with a tune. It's scary insane.

Everyone needs to chillout. Just because BMW wants to make money from idiot FWD tree huggers dose not affect us in anyway.

BMW still make RWD cars that are awesome e.g 135i, M3 (questionable), M5. It is like BMW has stopped making all RWD cars, the way you guys are going on.

Actually.....aren't the 1 series going full FWD? IIRC they are.

It's a slippey slope....and I'm afraid we're just on the leading edge here. A lot further to go, unfortunately.

                        Also.....IIRC, the new M3 will be a turbo....Vee-six. Ugh....

Guys like I said earlier, us enthusiasts and car guys make up a small fraction of the BMW buying public. Most people that buy them are Yuppie Douche-bags that are more conserned with the status of the badge than anything, that are becoming more and more concerned with saving the planet and going green (you know the prius/smart car buying for a look at me I am saving the world status symbol).. This is why BMW is going this path to save the world. Really how big of an elitist cock do you have to be to have to have the latest BMW badged envirodouche mobile.

These little shit boxes are going to be like crack to well to do urban and suburbanites that have bought into the whole we are destroying the planet myth. and BMW will sell MILLIONS of these little shit boxes, because of the badge on a GREEN SMUG MOBILE no more no less.

For this I cant fault BMW one bit, they are a for profit company and they are doing what is best for the company and abandoning the BMW enthusiast community, is not going to cost them that much anyway. Really how many of you guys here are even thinking about going out in the next month and buying a NEW ONE. BMW does not care about us that have 25 year old shit boxes, like they care about pandering to mr&mrs Jones that live 30 miles from work, earn a combined 125+k a year and want to have one car and save the earth while commuting, that is the market they want.

This is why there will prolly not be a turbo 6 or even a 6 in the next 1-series (they burn too much gas, in perception to the 4 bangers in the minds of that demographic) you know the ones buying the small entry level economy BMW.

I hate this fact as much as the rest of you, but its the sad reality of the green world we live in today, and its going to get much much worse.

Really although a V6 is difficult engine it would be a sweet swap into an E30 I wonder if it will be short enough to get it behind the front wheels?

a modern take on the Isetta would be the only acceptable FWD BMW

                              I could be wrong though
