    lived to see 19

on weds an f350 superduty pulled out of a driveway attempting to make a left when i was about 20 feet from the driveway on my kawasaki zx10r. i tried desperately to avoid him but he clipped me sending me flying across the street into a curb and a huge boulder. he hit me so hard that everything went quiet and i couldn't see for a few seconds. for that few seconds i accepted the fact that i was dead. i then sprung back to my feet and started yelling at the driver and while i was cursing him out my legs felt really warm.
i looked down and my jeans were totally ripped off and the artery in the back of my leg was squirting blood like crazy. i dropped back to the ground and grabbed the back of my leg aswell as the front because i had a huge gash in my groin too. i was lying there for 5 or so mins putting pressure on the wounds until paramedics showed up. without any hesitation they called a helicopter in to meet them at the brookville country club 3 mins down the road. by the time we were there the helicopter was there ready to go and had me to nassau university trauma center faster then the ambulance got to the helicopter.
i got away with a 7 inch long 3 inch wide down to the bone lasceration on the back of my leg right below my ass, a 5 inch long 2 inch wide down to the bone lasceration going down my groin next to my balls, and my right lung was collapsed. it took them 3 and a half hours to stitch my ass up and an hr and a half to stitch my groin up. at first they thought i broke my pelvis but there were no fractures. i hav an mri scheduled to see whats up with my hip joints on monday.
todays my 19th birthday by the way. im in so much pain but ive never been happier in my life. im so glad to be alive and in one piece holy shit. i have to go to see the bike on monday. ill take some pictures im so freaked out to look at it tho

Jeeezus. Never talked to you before, but glad you are okay and of good spirits! Bike accidents are nothing to laugh at.

Keep your nose up, it might be a long road. Attitude is key.

If you edit your first post, you can edit the title too, fyi.

Wild story! It seems like you are doing pretty well from a bad crash. I have seen and heard of far too many people getting in motorcycle accidents for me to ever desire getting on one. Keep us updated on what happens to the knob that made you crash, assuming they were at fault :P

Femoral artery damage usually leads to death pretty quickly. You're lucky you were conscious and smart enough to apply pressure. They're nearly the size of a garden hose, so you can bleed out pretty quickly.

                  Heal up!
