bill of sale is important in addition to the title. i've been a victim of this. just today, i got a notice from the mail that my 98 BMW 328iC needs to be registered. Except I sold this 2 years ago. Aside from this, I've gotten parking tickets for this car that I don't drive anymore. I send them a copy of the bill of sale, and end of discussion.
