OP if it were me, i'd BS and say, oh it needs new fender, this and that. then pull out the cash, say i got 1400 right here. seller says no, 2k.
i say, c'mon man, i buy these all the time! 1600.
seller says 1900. you get it for 1800 all day, 1700 if you try.
i've never paid asking price for a car. idk maybe other people dont have the negoitiating skills!

I have owned over 40 E30's...Got the negotiating thing down by now:)
Sold an 86 325es two years ago for $3500. Just sold another one for $4000. Both cars were pristine 100% stock. Both cars sold within 2 days of posting with people lining up to get it.
On the other hand, there are below 1k ones that have been sitting for weeks and nobody wants them.
In my experience, market for stock unmolested E30s is very strong.
