I'm coming over to the US for a couple of weeks.

Can anyone confirm the deal to get a prepaid SIM card for a 3GS iPhone and a USB modem for the laptop.

the reason I'm asking is because some smartass in the office reckons prepaid SIM and modems are an issue in the US due to terrorist activity. true? or just another urban myth?

Why not just call ATT directly and find out the right way? Most of us know cars and a few other specialties that don't particularly intertwine with prepaid wireless simcards that work for both phone and laptop applications.
