Installing Plastic Bumper on my 87 Vert

Before I go dump a couple hundred on plastic bumpers I want to confirm that I can install them on my convertible without any modifications.
I currently have Diving boards and from what I have read the plastic should mount right up?

    Thanks

Front is really easy cut tow hooks and switch out bumper shocks. Then change mounting brackets. Rear you have to line up and mount brackets as there are none there now. Not too hard take a couple of hours to do...

And the rear doesnt look right because the lower body valance doesnt hang as low as it does on a late model car

        Thanks for the info guys.

@bimmer630 what do you mean about the valance not hanging as low?

Any pics of a DB vert that has upgraded to plastic?

yeah, you need a rear valance.

Or a mtech2 rear bumper, that's my solution just need to fiberglass some cracks in it and slap it on there

Just to confirm, to put plastic bumpers on a DB coupe, I would need to cut and shorten the ends of the rear bumper, correct?

unless you're lucky enough to have an 88 (with late model tail lights), then yes. Gotta shorten the trim the same amount too.

Here's my '89 with plastic bumper conversion. The bumpers do not have to be cut off.

or even better yet, a set of m3 bumpers. i think the plastic bumpers look just just fine with the early style short valance. i also think the early style tail lights look way better than the late style. just my opinion.

to my knowledge, there were no 88 verts with late style tails. wasn't 91 the first vert year for that?

I was replying to bubbajan21 not the OP. I think it was a mid year split in 1990, but most 90's seem to be early and all 91's seem to be late. I could have made up that midyear split thing I've made up worse.
