    OEM Radio code

So I got a recent car with a dead battery; I changed it and tried to re-initialize the radio with the correct code; I called the dealership with the serial number off the back. I entered the code and no such luck.

I disconnected the power again for about 30-60min and then put the radio on with the code indication lit. This required putting the ign key in accessory position, as I have read that a capacitor in the radio sometimes needs a charge to recognize the code. Left this on for 1 hour still no such luck.

Can anyone tell me what I may be missing or is wrong. Please don't say change the radio... LOL. I know that option is available.

    thx.

maybe someone already switched the radios...only thing i could think of that would make sense for you.
try taking radio out and seeing what numbers are on it and calling dealership with that info...

otherwise...spend 50 and get pioneer headunit

Seems like your doing it right so call another dealer, maybe you have the wrong code.

How many times did you enter it wrong? I think 5 tries and your locked out for a certain amount of time, so leave it on and try again in an hour.

The code is correct; I know the guys at the dealership and also worked for them.

I believe 3 strikes your locked out. Which I why I disconnected the power and radio. Maybe I need more time for the radio to accept the code huh?
          I try that.

          thanks.
