Anti Lock light and Brake lights ALWAYS on...90 325i

I have a 90 325i and since ive had it the Anti Lock brake light remains on and my brake lights are ALWAYS on....any ideas what would cause this? I thought maybe the ABS relay, but would that really cause my B lights to always be on?

Your brake light switch by the pedal is probably bad if your taillights are always lit.

you can actually adjust that brake light switch. There is a collar around the toggle that you need to pull forward, towards the front of the car. I had this problem before, and this was the fix. Oh and I think I gave a squirt of wd40.

If it's a '90, than it may be equipped with the rectangular non-adjustable brake light switch.
In this case, you have to adjust the brake pedal by loosening the nut behind the pedal and turning the pedal pushrod until the pedal presses the brake light switch.

OP never said that the taillights were always lit, i think he meant the brake lining and anti lock lights on the cluster. If this the case OP, replace your brake lining sensors or remove the bulb from the cluster ( why remove the bulb? Ask me how i know) ans as for the antilock light, check the abs sensors if im not mistaken im not sure about this one.

Answering this, after many hours of thinking of an idea for a spacer, a round 3mm magnet made the job. Its cleaner than tape and pennies, it sticks right on the pedal by magnet magic :D

Yea the tails are ALWAYS on and my ABS light on my dash is always on as well. Il try adjusting the brake light switch if possible, if not il replace it with one I know works off a buddys recently totaled car by weeks end.

As for the ABS I changed the relay and its still on...so maybe a sensors bad
