Check for leaky sls suspension then if its a 92, its any easy fix to bypass the system but a great bargining tool as new shocks cost $1300 a peice, which know one would ever buy. Also check for Vanos rattle if its a 93 or older. If the dual sunroof works, your in the 5% that actually do. IMHO the 525it is really the perfect do it all car. I have had mine for 2 yrs and it hauls as much as a small pickup and drives 10x better then one, even with 1500lbs of paving stones in the back.

Also make sure you get the car up to at least 55-60mph to feel for the dreaded 55mph shake. A tell tale sign the thrust arms are worn. A lot of guys have spent mucho$$$ trying to get rid of the shakes to no avail.. The suspension on these cars are much more complex then our beloved e30's, more brittle but great when they are working properly.

If it doesn't show up, very lightly apply the brakes (just get the pads brushing the rotors) and see if it vibrates. I've had bad bushings feel like bad rotors, but you can apply the brakes harder & it will go away. Replace the bushings with 750iL components and you should be good to go.
