New guibo design?

Trans is out of a 2011 335i(or 335is cant remember).
Not in my stall, but every time I walked past, I had to stop and take another look.

As I said I'm not working on it. And, a brand new BMW with the transmission out of it wasn't surprising enough to ask why it was out.
I was more interested in the solid aluminum guibo bolted to the output shaft.

So I asked today why the trans was out. Apparently the rear main seal was leaking crankcase pressure/vacuum and causing a chirping/whistle noise.

And my best measurement from the center of two opposing bolt holes is 115mm.

In case anyone wanted to know.
