This actually makes me want to pick one up more, knowing I won't see my twin car coming down the road all the time, as it often seems with the newer M cars.

this is no new news. It was said from the beginning on there were only going to be 3000 produced, but then then bumped it to 5000 a month later. I was at the plant a month ago, and they said the building of them is very low priority because they are being built on the same line as the X1 and it is selling like crazy worldwide.

you have to see it in person to really judge it. it is a kickass car

They said there will be less than 1000 produced now, which I think makes it the lowest production non-special BMW model since the original M1.
