The Official 'Craigslist find' thread - awesome & awful (eBay, Kijiji, etc.)
That red cabriolet is a scam. Guy responds with an AZ phone number in a very generic way, dodging my two questions only to provide a bad e-mail address. Asked him if he is in AZ or PA. No response.
I looked at this car over the weekend. What the ad does not show is that the entire surface of the car looks like it has been scrubbed with a Scotch Brite pad by a five-year old. At least both front fenders and the hood are DOT-R replacement panels, the seller claimed they were original. The steering wheel has been replaced with a non-airbag unit after the accident. (Seller has no knowledge of accident.) He drove it 20k miles in 8 years and knows very little about what the car needs. Entire engine is coated in grime and he seemed surprised after I told him that these cars have timing belts that need to be replaced. Entire underside of the sunroof panel is caked in scabby rust. Car actually pulls well and idles steady. Exhaust smells rich and pours out of a very nice $500 Remus unit. Has a map light mirror. Also, dead bird in radiator.
Eternally searching for a nice set of BMW Sheepskin Seat Covers for Comfort Seats.
