    So ummm... should my diff flange be doing this..?

    I'm literally right in the middle of rebuilding the rear end.. Axles, wheel bearings, subframe bushings, trailing arm bushings, blah blah blah.. As I was checking play in the axles, I noticed the axle shaft flanges separated completely from the differential.. WTF? Standard? It's a 3.73lsd

    They just pop out, push on it and it should pop right back in

      okay good. should there be enough play in my axles to allow this?

        There is a snap ring that holds it in place. Might be worn or missing. Also looks like your output shafts seals are shot, hence all the oil on everything. Would be a good idea to replace them.
