    Spending money on your e30...

You ever get down on yourself for having to spend more money on your e30 than you actually have in your bank account?

Having to sell things you don't want to to pay for your e30?

I hate being in these situations where I'm struggling for that last penny to pay off car parts/build process/machining etc... someone make me feel better haha.

Sorry bud but I keep these things around so I can keep money in the bank. No car payment, cheap insurance, relatively cheap parts. Now if I were to go with an S52, S/C with RS's on GC suspension...yeah, pawn shops for sure.

As a hard-fast rule - I back away from the project when I can't afford it.

Learned lesson the hard way with my second motorcycle project.. got so stretched financially on it - that I had to sell it RIGHT after completing it. Man, I was bummed. NEVER again..

don't have to spend money on it. It, just...kind of happens.

I hate it. I have over $600 due at the shop I work at in parts tickets. Not including the money I put into it in parts I buy outside of the shop.

I have parts on order that haven't been charged to my account yet, on top of shop fees for labor and a few other things. Trying to pay it all off.

Just got a call this morning that my radiator, oil cooler and hoses all need to be replaced... oh and my head is cracked so I need a new head. I dropped it off with having more than enough money to spare... now I'm trying to sell more and more shit.

We call that over extension. I'm a culprit of it at times. My wife reigns me in gently though ;)

Yeah I just sat down and looked at my finances, if everything goes as planned as far as estimates for parts, I should be just OK... very close but I'm praying that it works out.

Maybe you should have held off on the sparcos? just joshin ya, but it sounds like you're spending more on the car than you can afford to. Thats not the right way to do it.

Higher paying job or less money spent on the car. pick one.

Yeah it wasn't intentionally, I actually really took time in figuring out numbers when it came down to paying for it. Then as soon as it hit the shop one thing after another popped up and I needed to get it fixed I guess. Maybe next time I should wait until I have double the money of the build just in case I need something.

Bummer about the bike. Niiice looking F2. What were the specs?

                              Suspence,
Sometimes this stuff happens to me, too. I spent a fortune onparts for my car, and then thought (briefly) that I might have to rebuild the bottom end. I have a load af parts I need to sell that I haven't used yet (US-spec ellipsoids, Euro Hella smilies, Husco armrest) to recoup some of my expenses, but buiding a car is sadly not a cheap proposition. Hang in there, man. You're car is coming along nicley, and I'm sure you'll be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel soon!
