Help! Changed cap/rotor/wires and now won't start!

Help...tonight my son and I replaced the cap/rotor/spark plug wires on our 1988 325ic. We were anal about making sure each wire was going to the right spot on the distributor. We ran the new wire from #6 cylinder to the connection. It all seems to be connected perfectly.
But...we crank and crank, and there is no kick or anything. The car would start up quickly before. The cap and rotor were in definite need of replacement, and the PO told me he recommended replacing the wires. I put new plugs in about a month ago...
Any thoughts? We checked all fuses, disconnected and re-connected the battery, but still no luck. Thanks in advance for your ideas...

Did you forget to connect the plug wire from the dist. cap to the coil? I bet you did....:D

I wish it was something like that!! The only thing I can think might be an issue is that something happened when we ran the wire from the #6 cylinder wire to the connector by the oil dipstick. It only connects one way, but it is the only different thing vs. any other set of wires I have ever done.

There are 2 plugs in that same bracket. Did you possibly plug it into the wrong one?

I will try swapping those 2 sensors. My son was on that side of the car when we re-connected those. It must be as simple as that! Thanks...

Well, it wasn't the sensors...swapped them and the car still won't start! Any ideas? Thanks. This is frustrating!

                  Tim, take it back apart.

You have something wrong and you will find it when you take it apart and re-inspect

did you push in the wires all the way into the plugs, worth a try they might not be fully connected

did you remove the metal thing form the plugs?
you have to pull that off the back of spark plug for wires to go on right. look at old spark plugs and new ones, make sure the metal piece was pulled off new ones man.

this happened to me first time i did plugs. had to pull them all back out.

Thanks for the thoughts. It is a 5-speed. I will take the cap off again, and make sure it is aligned with the rotor. I am confident the rotor is in the right position.

I am curious: could a CPS go bad with a wire/cap/rotor change? Coincidence? Thanks...

Update: NO SPARK! What is the next step for me now? This car would start right up every time before I put in these new parts. Thanks...

                              Tim,
Do you have power to the rest of the vehicle? Lights, radio working, etc...
