read before posting. A copy of the key is already not working.

in other news... already paid for the new master key ($63), no clue when it'll get here.

awesome, do you know if it comes all nice and master-key-ish looking? as if I just bought a new e30?

or does it still just look like a copy?

brand new, with the BMW key head. there are two different keys you can order, one lighted, and one unlighted. both are very obviously dealer cut keys, and are nice and sharp

go and get a few copies of your original copied key then file them down 1 by 1 till you get an appropriat ware match. just a thought.

yeah and i guess if you wanted it you could always order a trunk lock and pass side tumbler to my old cars vin number, as long as i can find it, which im sure i can

well....it works! sort of :( it doesn't look like the one you got with the black hard plastic on it but it's still a metal key.

The only place where it's not going in at all is at the back (trunk). It's weird because the copy (which is a bit thinner) goes all the way in and the new mater key I just got from bmw is not going all the way in.

I just got an idea though as I was typing this. I'm going to go make a copy of the new master key from a cheap thin key and see if that works. Be right back guys.
