    Too much to handle?

$6000 Budget here, found an E30 325i 4dr for 800 he is going to give it to my for 500 this is what it has

    -H&R Springs and Bilsteins
    -UUC Shortshift
    -K&N Intake
    -Zenon Side and Rear Kit
-and a set of 4 ACS Wheels with no tires (The car is sitting on 4 diff sets right now)

This car runs but has 229,000 miles and still pulls but its going to need ALOT of work

    1) Probably wont pass smog
    2) Left Rear Door is broken and is held buy rope and tied tight
    3) Guages dont light, turn signals and brakes do not work but the headlights and tails do
    4) its going to need paint and body work also (His sond thought it was a good idea or jump on the roof and there is a BIG Ass Dent on the very top.
    5) Interior work, windows and lil shit like that too

My concern is to get the car into a daily driver then worry about cosmetics later, will my budget cut it? I really dont want to spend all of it on the motor but what am I looking at here?

5000 should be enough to find another motor, and have someone do an install on it right? You think i might be able to get a paintjob too with that budget? and throw some Tires on those nice set of ACS's? Give me some feedback here fellas, because im thinking about jumping in to this but really dont want to spend too much money.

With 6G's you can buy a pretty damn near mint one and just fix that one up. Hell you can find a good one for 4G's and spend the rest of the 2Grand on mods and the goodstuff.

Especially if you don't do your own wrenching, buy a car that is as mint as you can afford and work from there.

the acs rims alone are worth probably twice as much as the car. if anything buy it and sell those rims off.

I'd buy it, but that's only because I'd be comfortable fixing the broken things and I would own another E30.

Buy it for $500 for sure. But don't keep it. Part it out and consider keeping the mods - because with the rims, the suspension, and the short shifter, you have over $1,000 in parts right there. Then search for a good condition E30 to keep for your daily.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

i would buy it, then buy another one in good condition, take what i want from it to put on the car with better condition, then sell whatever parts you can and then junk it.....or jump on the roof some more :D

                      I agree 100%.

Buying a car needing that much work is just not worth it to fix it up.

One thing you must remember though. There may be some great information on sites/forums, but don't do what other people say just because they say it. Do what you feel is right. In this case, I think you're making a good decision.
